Karavostasi is a very easy dive site, very close to the port of the village.
The name comes from two Greek words: "Karavi" (=Ship) and "stasi" (=station) "Karavostasi" (Boat station) as here was coming boats to bring or get things and people in the different periods of the history and in older times it was a place to stop boats to repair them.
It is in the bay of Bali and it is in front of the last beach on the northern side, called Karavostasi beach. It's a small creek with a very nice beach, maybe the most picturesque beach of Bali.
As it does look to south-east it gives almost always a protected area easy to dive and that's the main reason we have choice this site for our beginners. Almost every afternoon we come here for Discover Scuba Diving and beginner courses.
Even if it is just near the village you will be amazed of what you can find there!
The depth here is from 0m to 5-12m max for beginners and to 16-17m for the experienced. Here, if you look carefully, every where you will find the presence of the old habitants. At the beginning and in the middle of the site it is, mostly, sandy. On the sides it is mostly rocky. Usually here, the dive boat stays on anchor and we come to it after the dive.
