Sifounas is located on the east side of Bali, not far away from the bay.
It takes just 4-5 minutes by boat from the port! The name comes probably from the hole/cave where the fresh water comes out from the mountains (sifoni = siphon) or from the current that the water makes as is coming out like a "whirlwind" (sifounas).
Just under the mountain of "Mpahoumis" an escarpment with 80m vertical rocks gives the first impression, maybe, that there is a deep dive site... but not! The dive here is a shallow dive, from 4-5m to usually 11-12m. It is possible to go till 15-16m if we swim more far of the rocks to the north.
The good thing with the small depth is that we can stay longer and we can enjoy the very interesting bottom of this site! Caverns, small caves, colours, fresh water springs. Cold water, current and turbid visibility at the surface and around the springs.
