Peristeri is a very interesting dive site 7 minutes by boat from the port of Bali.
The name "peristeri" in English is the bird "pigeon". There was many pigeons at the area, they had their nests in small caves and holes. Today there still are but much less (thank to human). Actually, it's a hill in the sea and from far you don't see it but it is separated from the main land.

Usual the dive starts on the east side because is more protected (as usual the wind comes from west), at about 5-7m deep and maximum depth usual is around 17m. Occasionally (depend of the divers level) to 22m.
The bottom shape is very variable and beautiful. There are many big rocks around and that's why there are many "canyons" where we can swim between them. There are also 1 - 2 small holes/tunnel where we can pass through!
If it's windy is possible to feel a very small current at the deeper area and if its wavy you can feel well the wave's movement at the shallow part. At most of time, the visibility there is very good. It's possible, some times, to see more than 30m but if it's wavy for some days it can be 15m.
Usual you are not coming back at the boat in this dive site but the boat will come to pick you up from where ever you finish the dive and come up!
